Thanks for a different take on the RoR NFT launch/cancellation. It would have been interesting to see how the idea progressed. I guess we'll have to wait for someone else to be brave enough to stick their necks out there.
I had an idea to use NFTs to create digital versions of the tokens used in my novel (it's a fantasy set in NYC where people complete Dungeons & Dragon-style quests in exchange for tokens). I thought it would be cool to give out the various token denominations and then let people exchange the tokens for swag like art prints and the like. It would be more for superfans and not as a store of value.
Totally. But after what happened, I'm not sure anyone on the traditional side is going to take the leap. I think the movement will have to begin with indie.
Love that idea! The fact that your tokens are actually assets from your book is even cooler! I also think this is a project that the NFT native community can get behind. Sadly, the RoR team was relying heavily on their built-in literary community that wasn't familiar with this ecosystem or the the creativity happening the metaverse.
I admit I haven't really explored the NFT native community at all, will have to do some research. I didn't even know what a gas fee was until the other day.
Ideally, I'm envisioning some sort of gas-free NFT that can be distributed in random drops throughout the year in the lead-up to my book launch.
