I've been grinding away in coffee shops for fifteen years… Bending like a yogi to snatch that last power outlet. Trusting total strangers with my Macbook as I sprinted to the restroom. Battling shaky tables, overpriced scones, and dodgy wifi connections.
And yet, there's something magical about working out of a coffee shop. Something inspiring about working alongside creatives and like-minded people. Like the time I met artist Ali Sabet, who was sketching in a notebook in a nearby seat. A conversation sparked. Ideas were exchanged, and Ali became a friend and creative collaborator. He even painted my wife an incredible painting for our wedding day.
Years later, while posted at a coffee bar, I had a random epiphany - What if ALL these creatives could exchange ideas in the same room? A place where we can talk shop and hold each other accountable. To push, motivate, collaborate, teach, and dream together."
That’s the idea behind Creators & Coffee - a place where creatives, freelancers, designers, writers, artists—anyone can hang out, drink coffee, and connect. Our first event earlier this month gave me hope for what it could be. I met two incredible graphic designers, a YouTuber, an NFT artist, a yoga teacher, a filmmaker, and more - all these creatives mastering their craft.
Our second event will be on Friday, July 21st @ 8:30 am, featuring a food truck serving breakfast and free coffee. So if you've ever worked out of a coffee shop, if you have a creative project you’re working on, or if you just want to connect with like-minded people, come and hang out.
